“Enemy of Man” reaches Kickstarter funding goal

As we reported back last month, Rupert Grint’s latest project – Enemy of Man – was in need of a little support. To help with the starts of production, actor and now director Vincent Regan created a Kickstarter page back at the beginning of March, with the hopes of help from those who are eager for the film to go ahead. The goal to be met was $250,000. We can now happily confirm that as of yesterday, said goal has been reached with the funding on the page standing at $255,564!

Tons of wonderful, exclusive goodies were up for grabs for those who backed the film: T-shirts, storyboards, limited edition posters, and much, much more. There were even chances to be named funding producer on IMDb and the film credits.

A short proof of concept film called The Instruments of Darkness was created by the cast and crew, which showed “their love and dedication for the project, and [they] were not offered any financial incentive. They believed in the idea and the potential of what the project had to offer.” A HD copy of this was available to those who donated $10 or more.

Enemy of Man, an independently made film retelling the story of Shakespeare play Macbeth, will be Regan’s directorial debut. Rupert will be playing Ross in this adaptation, accompanied by Charles Dance as Duncan and Sean Bean as the main role, Macbeth. James D’Arcy, Jason Flemyng, and Neil Maskell have also been cast. The role of Lady Macbeth has yet to be announced.
