Universal Studios Hollywood is giving Harry Potter fans a new reason to brave the dark this spring. As part of its upcoming Universal Fan Fest Nights event, the park is debuting “Forbidden Forest: Search for the Hippogriff,” a new experience set in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter that sends guests into the Forbidden Forest on a mission to rescue one of the wizarding world’s most beloved magical creatures.

According to the announcement, the adventure will unfold in a newly created outdoor environment designed just for Fan Fest Nights. With help from a Hogwarts Magical Creatures professor, guests will make their way through the forest while coming face-to-face with creatures including pixies, owls, spiders, and even the Monster Book of Monsters. Along the way, they’ll have to overcome challenges before they can complete the rescue.

Universal Fan Fest Nights is a separately ticketed after-hours event that will run for just 12 nights on April 23–25, May 1–3, May 7–9, and May 14–16, 2026. In addition to the new Harry Potter offering, the event promises immersive fandom-themed entertainment, character encounters, cosplay, photo ops, themed food and drinks, merchandise, and more throughout the park.
