Second season of “A Young Doctor’s Notebook” to air on Ovation in August
We posted back in April that the second season of A Young Doctor’s Notebook, which stars Daniel Radcliffe, would be airing in the US this summer. Now, a start date has been announced – the second season will begin on Tuesday, August 19 at 10 p.m. ET on Ovation.
Season two continues with more tales inspired by Russian writer and playwright Mikhail Bulgakov. Adapted for television by writers Mark Chappell, Shaun Pye, and Alan Connor, this new season finds our protagonist young doctor (Radcliffe) in ever more challenging predicaments – emotionally and physically.
Jon Hamm, who co-stars in the series with Radcliffe, said,
Bulgakov’s writing has a special quality and tone that really resonated with all of us on the cast and crew. It’s so unique that we all were eager to come back for a second season that would further explore the character dynamics and pathos of this time and place. It’s fortunate that we have found such a supportive and enthusiastic US broadcast partner in Ovation to showcase this one-of-a-kind series.
Meanwhile, Radcliffe said,
Like the brilliant and mad source material, the characters are what makes this series as complex, funny and human as the first. I hope Ovation viewers will love this series as much as we loved making it.
In addition, Ovation will re-air season one beginning on August 7, while a VOD sneak peek of season two will be available starting on August 12. Are you planning on tuning in to the second season? Let us know in the comments.
