Julie Walters hands out awards at Samaritans event
Last week, we reported that Julie Walters would be attending an awards ceremony for the Samaritans in Horsham, Sussex, UK. Walters is a patron of the charity, which offers a listening ear to those in need, providing support and advice. The awards event took place on Tuesday, and Walters handed out certificates to the competitions winners from the College of Richard Collyer, who designed Christmas cards for the charity. A video has now been posted of Walters at the event, where you can see the winning Christmas card designs, as well as hear from the actress herself.
You can watch the video here.
At the event, Walters said,
The artwork and the exhibition I have seen are both amazing. I think the fact the Samaritans are even in existence gives me some hope in humanity. Mental health is something that has been pushed to the background and needs to be talked about more. It is a really lovely reason to come down and do something like this.
Congratulations to all the winning entries!
The new cards are now on sale.
Walters’s latest project, Paddington, produced by David Heyman, is released next week, and you can see her recently released character poster here, as well as find out more details about the premiere for the film and watch the latest trailer.
