Evanna Lynch to star in “Danny and the Human Zoo”
Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) is set to star in the BBC One telefilm Danny and the Human Zoo. Danny and the Human Zoo is a semi-autobiographical film created by the comedian Lenny Henry. Henry is one of the UK’s most successful stand-up comedians and co-founder of Comic Relief. He also voiced the shrunken head in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban!
Born in Dudley to a family of Jamaican immigrants, Danny and the Human Zoo is loosely based on Henry’s teenage years. The film revolves around its protagonist, Danny, and his life in the comedy world in the 1970s as a black teenager. BBC announced the making of the film and gave a short synopsis:
Danny’s world is a series of complex minefields [that] he has to negotiate. His home life – which his ebullient mother rules with an iron fist in an iron glove; his love life – where the white Irish girl he’s in love with won’t give him the time of day until he wins his first competition[;] and finally the ups and downs of his emerging career.
Lynch will portray Danny’s girlfriend, Bridget O’Riordan, the “feisty, sexy, gold-digging girlfriend.”
Lynch was looking the part in her Instagram post from May 11:
Production for Danny and the Human Zoo began on May 3 and is projected to air sometime this year.
