Matt Lewis Cast in “Happy Valley” with Shirley Henderson
Great news for BBC drama and Matt Lewis (Neville Longbottom) fans – Matt has been cast in the upcoming second season of the award-winning drama Happy Valley alongside fellow Potter alumna Shirley Henderson (Moaning Myrtle).
Filming is due to start next week and will take place in Yorkshire, UK, where it is set. The drama picked up numerous awards for the first series, including the Best Drama Series Award at the BAFTAs. Here’s a little bit more about the drama itself and Shirley’s role:
As [season] two opens, we join Catherine (Sarah Lancashire), the no-nonsense police sergeant who is back heading up her team of dedicated police officers in [t]he Calder Valley in West Yorkshire. With Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton) firmly behind bars, Catherine suspects there may be another serial killer on the loose and makes a gruesome discovery that will have shocking repercussions for her and her family. Meanwhile, a new detective, DS John Wadsworth (Kevin Doyle), arrives on the block with his own set of problems, and despite being firmly under lock and key, Tommy forms a bond with a mysterious female admirer (Shirley Henderson).
While we know a little about Shirley’s role, there’s no word yet on what Matt’s role will be, but we’re sure that we’ll learn more over the next few months as Matt joins the cast in filming! The season will be broadcast in 2016 on BBC One. Meanwhile, look out for any updates here on MuggleNet.
