J.K. Rowling on the “Sunday Times” Giving List
The Sunday Times has revealed their Giving List for the year, and once again, J.K. Rowling is featured. CAF, the Charities Aid Foundation, which produced the list in association with the Sunday Times, reveals that J.K. Rowling appears on the list at No. 52. Lord Sainsbury leads the list.
CAF writes that
in 52nd place is JK Rowling. The Harry Potter author chairs the Lumos Foundation, a children’s charity, and the Volant Charitable Trust, which has focused on medical research. Last year, the charities donated more than £5.6m between them.
J.K. Rowling has previously stated how important it is for people in her position to make a difference, saying that
You have a moral responsibility when you’ve been given far more than you need, to do wise things with it and give intelligently.
