The Battle is Building...
In LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5–7, we are giving gamers a truly epic conclusion to the most successful movie franchise in history with delightful gameplay for fans of all ages. We have built upon the first game and are giving fans even more magical abilities, puzzle solving and exploration, in addition to our distinctive brand of hilarious LEGO humor and charm.
In 2011, Traveller’s Tales Games released LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5–7. It covers the storyline of the last four films (last three books) and is available on the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, DS, PS Vita, and 3DS. A PC version was also produced but was immediately withdrawn due to DRM issues and was reissued on November 28, 2011. The Mac version was released on March 7, 2012. Many events from the books have been changed to accommodate two players as well as for comedic purposes, like its predecessor. You discover and unlock 200 characters, including many new ones that weren't available in the original. You learn new charms and spells, including Unforgivable Curses, while playing through 24 story events and returning to Hogwarts, where there are 16 different lessons to attend.
The game was well received by critics, praising its funny cut scenes, the use of the film's score, and how much there is to do after the main adventure is cleared. They also said it is simple enough for anyone to play. IGN gave it an 8/10.

Trivia
- Hogwarts Castle appears in its destroyed form as it does in Deathly Hallows - Part 2.
- Only the Gryffindor common room and Gryffindor boys' dormitory can be accessed while the player can only go as far as the entrances to the others.
- In Borgin and Burkes, the player can enter the Vanishing Cabinet and appear in Hogwarts, just outside the Room of Requirement. However, the Room itself cannot be entered, and thus it is not possible to return to Borgin and Burkes this way.
- Players can now leave Hogwarts and go to Hogsmeade, Hogsmeade Station, the Hogwarts Express, Platform 9 3/4, the Leaky Cauldron, and Diagon Alley.
- The Elder Wand's appearance is updated to reflect the wand in the films. Only characters with the Elder Wand can destroy gold obstacles.
- Hermione's bag can be used when placed on pink tiles. She begins by taking out two comically random objects and then throwing what she needs into the air.
- Ron's Deluminator replaces his Wand-Lighting Charm.
- It is impossible for someone to come out of the Veil, but Sirius does to demand his legs back.

LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4 will give gamers the chance to experience the magic and adventure of Harry Potter in a new and uniquely LEGO way. Playing as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger, as well as other favourite characters, gamers will have the opportunity to attend lessons, cast spells, mix potions, fly on broomsticks, and complete tasks to earn [H]ouse points. Throughout the game, players will also have the freedom to explore iconic settings from the wizarding world, including Hogwarts [C]astle, Diagon Alley, the Forbidden Forest, and the village of Hogsmeade!
On June 25, 2010, Traveller's Tales Games released LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1–4. It covers the storyline of the first four films and is available on the Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, PlayStation Portable, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and iOS. The PlayStation 2 version was planned but was later canceled for unknown reasons. A special collector's edition version of the game was released that contained a behind-the-scenes look at the game, a free set of avatar clothes and (for Xbox 360) an exclusive set of House crest magnets, and an interview on the making of Deathly Hallows. There are extensive differences between the book/film events and the video game storyline. Almost all of the characters are playable, but there is no talking.
The gameplay is similar to that of other LEGO games, with an emphasis on collecting, exploring, and solving puzzles. Casting spells is an integral part of the gameplay, in addition to potion-making. "Student in Peril" missions are groups of challenges to help a student. The Polyjuice Potion allows players to temporarily change one of the player's characters into any other mini-figure unlocked. The Leaky Cauldron works as a central hub for purchasing unlockable extras and returning to previous levels. Other unlockable characters are found by picking up their hidden portraits in Hogwarts. Multiplayer mode means that two characters have to be available in each level, therefore changing the plot of the story several times. For example, Hermione joins Harry during the first task of the Triwizard Tournament.
Characters
The main characters (Harry, Ron, and Hermione) are controlled since the start of the game, but some of the other characters can be found in missions or in hidden places. Most characters can be unlocked when the player buys them in Madam Malkin's in Diagon Alley.

Let your creativity take control in LEGO Creator: Harry Potter! Create your very own witch or wizard in the infamous LEGO mini-figure style and begin your customizable journey through Harry Potter's first two adventures!
Over the years, two different series of LEGO-themed video games were created for Harry Potter, based on the building block toys. The first series was released in the early 2000s as a computer game, called Lego Creator.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone
Electronic Arts Games released LEGO Creator: Harry Potter in North America on October 26, 2001, and in Europe on November 5, 2001. It was created for Windows 98 or later and was originally the only game to exist alongside the actual LEGO Harry Potter sets. A demo was available on the DVD-ROM of the Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone video game.
Players can create things more than play, such as building with LEGO bricks in Diagon Alley, building a track for the Hogwarts Express, and creating things inside and outside of Hogwarts, the Gryffindor common room, and the third-floor corridor. Players can also create their own mini-figures to play as or use characters already existing, such as Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Players also have the capability to place their characters on broomsticks and make them fly around, cast spells, or even change the weather. There are also several minigames included.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
On March 12, 2002, EA Games released the sequel to its predecessor, LEGO Creator: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It was similar to the original in most of its features but more like a traditional video game in that there are many challenges as players figure out how to unlock new areas of Hogwarts. Finishing challenges opens up new areas and eventually allows players to go into the Chamber of Secrets itself. Players can play as many different characters (such as Harry, Ron, Draco, and Tom Riddle) or make their own mini-figure character.
