The Harry Potter Alliance Launches “A World Without Hermione”
Education is one of the most important things in the world, as we all know. But what would life be like if women were never able to get it? The Harry Potter Alliance aims to show everyone the importance of girls attending school.
September 1 marked the official launch of its latest campaign, A World Without Hermione.
The campaign focuses on what Harry and the other male characters’ lives would have been like were it not for the likes of Hermione, Luna, Cho, Ginny, or any of the other female characters and bring that alternate universe idea into real life problems, focusing on gender inequality in schools around the world. The organization has partnered with She’s the First and is dedicated to getting girls all over the world to finish their education. Their IndieGoGo campaign will be launching September 19.
Each individual chapter of the HPA was assigned a task for A World Without Hermione. They also have a “Hogwarts Waitlist Letter” that can be printed out and mailed to raise awareness.
Let’s face it: We all know Harry would have been completely lost without the help of Hermione and so many others. In the words of Ron Weasley, “We wouldn’t last two days without her!” That’s why it’s so important that girls everywhere are given the same privileges and rights as men. Everyone deserves to go to school. Everyone deserves to learn.
