Which Two “Harry Potter” Characters Share Your Personality Type?

by Emily Hedrick · March 27, 2018

Have you ever wondered what would happen if your favorite witches and wizards from the wizarding world took the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator? I think that each of the 16 personality types would be represented by at least a couple of characters. Although some of these results may not surprise you, several pairs may give you pause. If you don’t already know your Myers-Briggs type, consider taking this free quiz.

ISTJs Severus Snape and Narcissa Malfoy prove their devotion by performing the Unbreakable Vow.

INFJ: The Visionaries

Remus Lupin and Newt Scamander

The rarest and most misunderstood personality type, INFJs are deeply introspective, passionate, gentle yet fierce, and troubled yet idealistic. They seek meaning in all things and work to establish harmony.

ISFJ: The Givers

Neville Longbottom and Molly Weasley

The most selfless personality type, ISFJs are loving, nurturing, dutiful, often underappreciated, and extremely attentive to details, especially those pertaining to the people and things they love.

INTJ: The Prodigies

Hermione Granger and Bill Weasley

The most gifted personality type, INTJs are brilliant, perfectionistic, and ambitious. They often use their extensive knowledge to help others, and they adhere to rules but are willing to break them for causes they strongly believe in.

ISTJ: The Steadfast

Severus Snape and Narcissa Malfoy

The most loyal personality type, ISTJs are quiet, serious, private, thorough, and devoted to an almost unbelievable degree to their families, friends, careers, and/or chosen causes.

INFP: The Dreamers

George Weasley and Xenophilius Lovegood

The most imaginative personality type, INFPs are curious, creative, friendly, whimsical, and inclined to see the good in most people and situations.

ISFP: The Artists

Luna Lovegood and Dobby

The most expressive personality type, ISFPs are sweet, innocent, wise beyond their years, unconventional, and inclined to notice and expound upon the beauty in all people and things. They may seem fragile but are actually very tenacious.

INTP: The Skeptics

Draco Malfoy and Percy Weasley

The most scientific personality type, INTPs are incredibly intelligent, detached, driven, and sensitive but fiercely unwilling to show their sensitivity. They are more interested in analysis for the sake of analysis than for the sake of real-world application.

ISTP: The Brave

Harry Potter and Porpentina “Tina” Goldstein

The most daring and paradoxical personality type, ISTPs are observant yet reckless, tolerant yet hotheaded, and introspective yet outspoken. They are heroic but are often unaware of their own heroism.

ENFJ: The Teachers

Albus Dumbledore and Arthur Weasley

The most inspiring personality type, ENFJs are patient, open-minded, empathetic, inquisitive, and committed to gaining and imparting knowledge as often as possible.

ESFJ: The Best Friends

Rubeus Hagrid and Cedric Diggory

The most amiable personality type, ESFJs are friendly to everyone, cooperative, fair, well loved, and inclined to be trusting to a fault.

ENTJ: The Renegades

James Potter and Alastor “Mad-Eye” Moody

The most revolutionary personality type, ENTJs are strategic, experienced, charming but sometimes brash, mischievous, and naturally inclined to be rebellious leaders.

ESTJ: The Leaders

Minerva McGonagall and Seraphina Picquery

The most responsible personality type, ESTJs are born leaders, immensely intelligent and wise, straightlaced but also sharp-witted, and self-motivated but also driven to serve others.

ENFP: The Stars

Lily Potter and Queenie Goldstein

The most talented personality type, ENFPs are vivacious, warm, popular, somewhat naive, and particularly adept at communicating with others and making others feel special.

ESFP: The Entertainers

Fred Weasley and Nymphadora Tonks

The funniest personality type, ESFPs are laugh-out-loud hilarious, confident, universally well liked, flexible, and surprisingly sentimental and attached when it comes to those they love.

ENTP: The Charmers

Ginny Weasley and Sirius Black

The most alluring personality type, ENTPs are magnetic, whip-smart, impulsive, and outspoken. They are skilled at many different kinds of activities, and they tend to become bored easily.

ESTP: The Rocks

Ronald Weasley and Jacob Kowalski

The most down-to-earth and dependable personality type, ESTPs are authentic, energetic, affable, reliable, and inclined to leap into action to help others before researching all possible options.
