Chris and Eleanor Columbus Honored by NYU Tisch School of the Arts
On April 16, the New York University Tisch School of the Arts honored three notable alumni: Harry Potter director/producer Chris Columbus, The Witch producer Eleanor Columbus (who played Susan Bones in the first two Potter films), and Emmy Award-winning producer Eddy Moretti.
Alec Baldwin presented Chris Columbus and Eleanor Columbus with the Big Apple Award for Artistic Achievement.
The two of them have each found a fabulous partner in each other. They are two NYU film students, committed to giving a hand to other young talented filmmakers and stocking the pond with new talent.
Chris Columbus, who graduated from Tisch in 1980 and is an Academy Award-nominated producer, director, and screenwriter, gave NYU credit for his impressive career.
NYU is responsible for everything I’ve ever done… I love the students of NYU. Art can change the world, and this world needs your vision and integrity more than ever.
Eleanor Columbus, a 2011 Tisch alumna, compared her alma mater to Hogwarts.
Growing up, I would see Chris light up when he spoke about NYU, and as soon as I walked through the doors of Tisch everything made sense. NYU was and is my Hogwarts and NYU Tisch is the greatest and most magical school in the world.
Congratulations to the father-daughter duo on this well-deserved honor!
