Five Magical Ways to Celebrate Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling’s Birthday
Here in the Harry Potter fandom, we have two very important birthdays coming up on July 31, 2018. Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling share the same day of birth. Do you know how you are going to celebrate? I’m planning on spending my day with a Harry Potter movie marathon and some birthday cake ice cream. There are many ways to celebrate a birthday, such as throwing a huge party, having a quiet day to yourself, or even raising awareness for some charities.
Throw a Birthday Party
There are few things better than being around your friends and just letting loose on your birthday. So why not throw a birthday party to celebrate the birthdays of two people who have always been there for us? Harry definitely deserves a few good parties after all he went through.
Bake a Cake
Baking plays a huge role in the Harry Potter books. Cakes, pastries, and cookies show up a lot from Hagrid or Mrs. Weasley. Harry often received baked goods and treats for his birthday. Make yourself a yummy treat to say thanks to the boy wizard and his creator.
Revisit the Magic
The perfect way to celebrate Harry Potter’s birthday is to go back to where it all began. How long has it been since you last read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone? Take the day to go back to Hogwarts and revisit the magic that you first discovered so long ago.
Visit a Potter Trivia Night
It’s time to show off your Potter knowledge. This is your time to shine. Are you ready to impress your friends with how much you know about Harry Potter? Take a trip to a local trivia night or start your own.
#ThankYouForTheMagic Birthday Campaign
There are many ways to celebrate a birthday, but we at MuggleNet have decided to throw Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling the best birthday ever! We are running the #ThankYouForTheMagic Birthday Campaign to raise awareness for four fantastic Potter-related charities, the Protego Foundation, the Trevor Project, the Harry Potter Alliance, and Project Purple. We are doing this through a website called Daycause, which lets participants sign up through Twitter or Facebook to send out a social media post at the same time on July 31, 2018. This will help get the word out about this special campaign.
How do you plan on celebrating Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling’s birthday? Let us know in the comments, and remember to sign up on Daycause to help promote the #ThankYouForTheMagic Birthday Campaign.
