Just days after Harry Potter: Wizards Unite was released, Niantic and WB Games announced the app’s first live event, a fan festival in Indianapolis, Indiana. We now have more details about the upcoming Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Fan Festival, as reported during San Diego Comic-Con.
The Fan Festival will be held from August 31 to September 1 at White River State Park in Indianapolis. Both days of the event will offer the same experience, the game’s website notes, although you can only choose one day. Tickets are $30 for general access or $40 for early access. Those with early access tickets will be able to join in the excitement starting at 9 a.m. on the day of their ticketed event, while those with general access tickets will be able to join starting at 11 a.m. on that day. The event will run until 7 p.m. for both ticket categories.
Registration for tickets to the event is now live in the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite app, although registration will not guarantee that you will receive an event ticket. Additional details are available on the Fan Festival’s website.
We have also included the full press release from the Harry Potter: Wizards Unite team below. If you’re wondering what bonuses you can expect in the game, here’s a hint: There will be dragons.
From the Welsh Green to the Antipodean Opaleye, these regional Oddities will be making their landfall debut in the game at Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Fan Festival in Indianapolis this Aug. 31 – Sept. 1. Fans will want to take advantage of this unique opportunity, as after the event, the different dragon varieties will only appear in specific regions around the world.
Even better, the press release hints that those who can’t make it to Indianapolis will have the opportunity to join the Fan Festival remotely! Details about that have yet to be released, however.

All ticket holders will explore the sprawling White River State Park as they complete exclusive event-specific Special Assignments and be the first to discover brand[-]new in-game encounters, including never-before-seen Oddities – [d]ragons. As players come together in Indianapolis, they’ll be able to commemorate their experience and friendships by snapping photos with iconic elements from the game. Come prepared to contain the Calamity, as you’ll need to work with fellow SOS Task Force members within the park, and across the globe, to unlock additional special rewards for the global community.
