MinaLima Launches New “Harry Potter”-Inspired Wallpaper
The graphic design duo behind the artwork of Harry Potter, MinaLima, has created a new set of deluxe wallpapers inspired by the films!
The wallpaper comes in five different designs – the Marauder’s Map, The Daily Prophet, the Black family tapestry, Hogwarts Library book covers, and Quidditch – and is a great way of blending the brand and style of their “world of paper” into a new product.
Miraphora Mina stated that since “Harry Potter fans are becoming homeowners and wanting to maintain the nostalgia” of the series, creating prints in wallpaper form provides fans with a way of reconnecting to the series by welcoming the wizarding world into their homes.
The wallpapers are diverse and stylistically versatile and usable in a variety of settings, with something for everyone. A great way of enhancing the wallpapers is by “layering [them] up with prints on top,” as seen in the pictures below. The books in an alcove are displayed at House of MinaLima, which would be perfect to look like a bookcase “next to a fireplace.” Some of the covers featured include Hogwarts: A History and Advanced Potion-Making. In my opinion, this would look nice behind a bookcase or as a small feature wall.
The Daily Prophet, an iconic prop from the films and a popular product from the shop, really brightens up space and captivates people since the articles featured on the wallpaper are readable! This design is my personal favorite, and I specifically love it when the framed print is on top of the wallpaper. The level of detail in all these designs is astounding and will certainly be appreciated by Potter fans. The Quidditch wallpaper in particular, with Snitches flying around a clear blue sky, would be absolutely brilliant for children’s bedrooms and would be a great way for parents to pass on their love for the series to their children. There is even a wizard on a book with text about the 422nd Quidditch World Cup.
A personal favorite of many is the Black family tapestry. It is truly fascinating looking at all the names and characters. Also, the tree “continues to grow in an infinite way.” Look out for Sirius Black and Draco Malfoy on this design! Mina thinks that the Marauder’s Map could be the most popular (“everyone loves the Marauder’s Map”) since fans can really immerse themselves in the enchanting detail of Hogwarts Castle as they navigate the map and find hidden passageways.
There really is a design for everyone, whether you have a big room to fill or a little alcove to decorate, because the wallpapers “all have such different personalities.” While Potter fans will love the intricate details in the wallpaper, non-fans will also appreciate MinaLima’s elegant designs.
Visit House of MinaLima to see for yourself or head over to their website, where the wallpapers can also be bought and shipped globally! Over at House of MinaLima, the wallpapers are currently set up on display on the second floor, where you can see all these designs. Throughout the rest of the floor, the wallpaper is being used as a backdrop for various prints.
Mina said that they do “have a sample in the studio” that didn’t make it, based on the Weasleys, which I think would be an incredible visual design to add. So if all goes well for these releases, we may see more of these enchanting designs.
