Celebrate the Summer as a Slytherin with Warner Bros. Studio Tour London
It’s expected that 2020 will be very magical and triumphant for Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. You’ll have to mark your calendars with several events that are scheduled throughout the year.
Of the many events taking place, a very notable one is A Celebration of Slytherin. Beginning in April 2020, Warner Bros. Studio Tour London will re-create “a 25-foot[-]high section of this iconic set,” complete with “authentic props.” Don’t worry, we’ve been assured that guests won’t have to consume any Polyjuice Potion to get inside. The price of admission should be enough.
Fans got a glimpse of the ominous dungeon that is the Slytherin living space in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Since then, the only common rooms viewers have seen in the movies were those of Gryffindor and Slytherin. However, one could argue that we indeed have seen the inside of the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff living spaces. The popular app Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery shows versions of the other common rooms. But until those become a reality, we may be left to wonder.
When designing the real-life Slytherin common room, production designer Stuart Craig “wanted a very different atmosphere [from] the warm colours of Gryffindor.” So instead of the bright red and gold, guests will find themselves in a sea of green and silver House banners. Original costumes of some of Slytherin’s more infamous witches and wizards will be on display, including that of Lord Voldemort.
The exhibit will start Friday, April 3, 2020, and continue until Sunday, September 6, 2020. Perhaps, in later years, we could see an official re-creation of either Ravenclaw’s or Hufflepuff’s common room.
