Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Lyric Theatre is one of many places suspending events until 2021, including countless other Broadway shows. The announcement on the official Twitter page is receiving mixed reviews from fans. The Lyric Theatre commented that the health and safety of all audiences are of utmost concern and that it will continue to monitor the pandemic closely.
Anyone who purchased tickets for performances from September 9 to November 22 will now be met with a January 2021 date or later. The official site for the New York production of Cursed Child offers guidance for all ticket holders who are affected by this change. Some patrons will need to contact their point of purchase to ensure a refund or to get scheduled for one of the performances in 2021.
The Lyric Theatre has expressed that it will be working closely with health and government officials to ensure the following of the latest advice. The Lyric Theatre knows this is disappointing news and inconvenient for ticket holders but urges everyone to stay connected on the main site for updates on scheduling and ticket exchange policy.
The Lyric Theatre wants to recognize the staff, artists, producers, and fans for their unwavering support during this time when the health and safety of all must come first.
