Potterhead Running Club Supporting Trans Lifeline for Platform: Year Seven Run
Potterhead Running Club (PHRC) is back with another great virtual running event, which began last week and will continue into September. Called Platform: Year Seven, the sixth event of the 2020 season for PHRC will benefit Trans Lifeline.
Trans Lifeline is “a grassroots hotline and microgrants 501(c)(3) non-profit organization offering direct emotional and financial support to trans people in crisis – for the trans community, by the trans community.” Its website notes that, at present, it is the only peer-support crisis service in the United States for which all operators are transgender. Additionally, “Because of the particularly vulnerable relationship transgender people have with police, it is also the only service in the country with a policy against non-consensual active rescue.”
Platform: Year Seven is a 9.75 km virtual run. (Yes, that’s nine and three-quarters!) PHRC notes that participants don’t have to run the route; they can complete it however they would like.
Remember that this is a ‘virtual’ active event, so you can complete your nine[-]and[-]three-quarter[-]kilometer distance however, wherever, and whenever you want! How? You can walk, run, skip, dance, or saunter. Where? You can do it around your neighborhood, on the treadmill, or on your favorite trail. When? You can do it on a Monday night, a Thursday morning, or a Saturday afternoon. It’s all up to you!
Registration for Platform: Year Seven also includes some special gifts.
Your registration includes this beautiful 3″ medal featuring a rather unusual take on our beloved steam engine representation and a mysterious design on the back that’s unique to the final year of the series. As with every PHRC medal, all registrants also receive the beautiful custom sublimated ribbon and the always-popular personalized digital bib!
Registrants are also able to purchase an event shirt in the House-inspired colors of their choice, for which proceeds will be donated to Trans Lifeline.
The medal that registrants will receive is pictured below.
