Fancy a Drink? Warner Bros. Studio Tour London Launches Bottled Butterbeer
Witches, wizards, and Muggles, we propose a toast… to butterbeer!
While most fans have likely tried their hand at re-creating the defining beverage of the Harry Potter series at home, only those paying visits to licensed locations have been able to indulge in the official version – until now. Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter announced today that it has bottled the famous brew, and sales are already underway.
Unfortunately, Potterheads outside the United Kingdom will have to cut their celebrations a bit short: Bottled butterbeer is currently only available for sale online to UK residents. The Studio Tour, however, is telling disappointed fans on social media to keep an eye out for expansion to other countries in the future.
But back to the good news – the Studio Tour is planning to launch the new product in style with a live takeover of its Instagram account by Warwick Davis (Griphook/Filius Flitwick) at 7:30 p.m. BST (2:30 p.m. ET) today!
The Studio Tour is inviting fans to leave their questions for Davis on its Twitter and Facebook posts for a chance to have them answered.
Bottled butterbeer is brewed in the UK and packaged in a souvenir glass bottle with an extra-special accoutrement: a collectible label designed by MinaLima! The Studio Tour says the initial label – a fun design featuring all four Hogwarts House colors and a border proclaiming the brew to be “from the original 1550 Leaky Cauldron recipe” – is the first of many.
Bottles will be available for purchase at the Studio Tour and the UK’s three Harry Potter stores at King’s Cross station, Heathrow Airport, and Gatwick Airport as well as online via the Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 3/4 and the Warner Bros Studio Tour London Shop. There is currently a limit of three bottles per transaction.
The Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 3/4 recommends serving your butterbeer chilled – preferably not by Dementors.

Today’s announcement is also good news for Potter fans who avoid dairy for health or ethical reasons since the new bottled butterbeer is both vegan and gluten-free. The Protego Foundation has been petitioning for years for Warner Bros. and Universal Studios to add a vegan butterbeer option, and the associated petition has amassed more than 7,500 signatures.
