Social Media Roundup: Halloween Celebrations and Remembering Sean Connery
Welcome back, all you wonderful Muggles, witches, and wizards! It is time to catch up with some of the stars of the Wizarding World in this latest edition of MuggleNet’s Social Media Roundup. During the past two weeks, there has been adorable puppy and cat content, Halloween celebrations, new family members, reminders to go out and vote in the upcoming US presidential election, and more.
Unfortunately, it was not all pleasant news. On October 31, it was announced that actor and producer Sir Thomas Sean Connery had passed away at 90 years old. Sean Connery was best known for his roles in James Bond, The Hunt for Red October, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, to name a few. Some Wizarding World stars posted their condolences and memories, including John Cleese (Nearly Headless Nick), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Ron Perlman (Gnarlak), and Oliver Phelps (George Weasley).
Saddened by the news of the passing of Sir Sean Connery. A wonderful man who I had the pleasure of working with in Time Bandits. We crossed paths many times over the years. Such immense talent and a vibrant human. And the only one of us to find The Holy Grail. pic.twitter.com/sNo4NtB6af

We were in #Dragonheart together 25 years ago. I shot in Slovakia, where every meal was deep fried, he recorded in the Bahamas, where it wasn’t. At the premiere I queued for his table to begin our artistic bonding. Got there and said hi to his lookalike brother.— Jason Isaacs (@jasonsfolly) October 31, 2020

October 31 was also Halloween. James Phelps (Fred Weasley) posted a picture of himself picking out a pumpkin. And yes, the image is correct. The long hair has been cut.
Zoë Kravitz (Leta Lestrange) looked fang-tastic in a Halloween throwback she posted from a previous year of her in costume when we could go out and celebrate the spooktacular holiday.
Celebrating her final day of quarantining after arriving home from walking to raise awareness and raise funds for the Orchid Project was Natalia Tena (Nymphadora Tonks). What better way to mark the occasion than with pumpkin carving and martinis?
Natalia Tena also spoke with author and activist Scott McGlynn for his podcast about Harry Potter, the Orchid Project, music, and more. Fans can watch the interview below.
Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown) shared an intimate moment after the birth of her son. In the caption, she revealed that her experience was “extreme” and very different from the births of her first two children. Congratulations from everyone here at MuggleNet!
Oliver and James Phelps also celebrated reaching 105,000 subscribers on their YouTube channel. As of Halloween, the brothers were up to 127,000 subscribers. On the channel, they post video content from their podcast, Double Trouble.
Keeping the good news going, Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) posted a creative video that announced the launch of Season 3 of The ChickPeeps vegan podcast. Lynch, Robbie Jarvis (who played young James Potter in Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix), Tylor Starr, and Momoko Hill talked about their summers and newsworthy vegan stories during the first episode of this new season.
Evanna also posted yet another photo of her adorable cat, Puff. This time, Puff was claiming a newly bought tablecloth as her own.
Also taking possession of something that belonged to their owners was Willow, Tom Felton’s (Draco Malfoy) dog. In the video, you can see her playing with/destroying a Gryffindor face mask. Willow is truly a Slytherin dog at heart.
Guess who also took part in Tom Felton’s TikTok #PottahChallenge? – Draco’s father himself, Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy). While you’re here, don’t forget to take a look at MuggleNet’s submission.

Repost from @lincolnproject.us • Vote for change. Vote for our sons. Vote for Joe.
Katie Leung (Cho Chang) shared a GIF to help steady breathing when feeling anxious, with a design that spreads in and out in a calming rhythm. In these uncertain times, this is something that we can all use.
