Launched on May 5, the Harry Potter at Home chapter videos featured Wizarding World celebrities past and present reading one chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone each. In total, the project involved more than ten Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts actors, multiple Harry Potter and the Cursed Child cast members, and even guest celebrity fans, such as Alec Baldwin and Whoopi Goldberg. Fans can watch the videos on the WWD website or listen to the recordings on Spotify until the end of the year, following which they will be removed.
As we previously reported, the global reread achieved tremendous success, with fans worldwide enjoying it over 30 million times across multiple platforms. Additionally, over 4.5 million people listened to Philosopher’s/Sorcerer’s Stone on Alexa as part of Audible’s free Alexa Listening Event. For several teachers, the readings have also been a useful teaching tool in their classrooms.
