Exclusive Details on New “Harry Potter” Funko Pop! Figurines
MuggleNet is excited to announce that we have early details about the new Harry Potter Funko Pop! figurines coming out later this year. The initial 2021 releases included Patronus Funko Pop! figures, featuring Minerva McGonagall’s cat, Severus Snape’s doe, Albus Dumbledore’s phoenix, and Remus Lupin’s wolf, but Funko gave us the first look at its other planned releases for the year. While we do not have images of the concept art or final product, we can tell you what characters to expect and a general description of what each one will look like.
The first Pop! is of Sir Cadogan, one of our favorite knights. We were not told if he will be featured with his sword, but we certainly hope he is. The visor on his helmet will be in the up position, showing his face, meaning we should see his mustache in all its glory. Does the inclusion of Sir Cadogan in the upcoming wave hint at the development of Pop! figurines based on other minor characters? If so, we would love to see Archie Aymslowe enjoying a “healthy breeze” around his privates developed next.
Next, a fan favorite is being made: Bem. For those who do not recall, Bem is the student who changed Houses in between the Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix films. Bem will be featured in his Gryffindor uniform, though we are hopeful that an additional Bem in a Ravenclaw uniform will be developed in the future.
The next Pop! references the second task in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. This Pop! features Viktor Krum with his transfigured shark head. We are told it will have a feature similar to the 2018 New York Comic Con-exclusive Professor Quirrell Pop!, though instead of removing a turban to reveal a second face, fans will be able to remove the shark head to see Krum’s face. In addition to sporting the shark head, Krum will be wearing his Durmstrang swimming attire as seen in the film. Will you display this Pop! with the shark head on or off?
Finally, a new wave of Harry Potter Pop! figurines would be incomplete without a new Harry. This time, Funko took inspiration from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, featuring Harry during his capture by Snatchers. This Harry will have a swollen face, including an eye swollen shut, from the Stinging Hex Hermione placed on him. This isn’t the Harry we were expecting, but hopefully, this means other Pop! figurines based on the events at Malfoy Manor during Deathly Hallows are in development.
These new Funko Pop! figures feature several different moments from the Harry Potter franchise that we are excited to see. We have not been given specific release dates yet, but we are eagerly awaiting them. Which ones will you be adding to your collection?
