As the 20th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film draws nearer, Warner Bros. is rolling out all sorts of magical treats for fans of the Wizarding World franchise. Along with the news that a display of Wizarding World wands would be coming to London’s Leicester Square, Warner Bros. also mentioned that the luggage trolley from Platform 9 3/4 would be making its way beyond King’s Cross to other train stations in the United Kingdom and now Ireland.
Its first stop, as announced in a press release today, is Edinburgh, Scotland. If you’re currently in the city, you’ll want to catch the photo opportunity soon; the trolley is only going to be in Edinburgh through Monday, October 18!
The trolley, a symbol of the gateway between the ‘Muggle’ and wizarding world, is situated on the concourse of King’s Cross [s]tation, alongside the Harry Potter Shop at Platform 9 ¾, and is visited every year by over 2 million people, serving as a symbol of the Harry Potter legacy for the last two decades, but soon cities across the UK and Ireland will be able to experience the magic too.
The first 100 fans to visit the trolley were given LEGO Harry Potter items to celebrate, and fans in Dublin now have a reason to rejoice: The trolley, previously scheduled to end its journey in Belfast, will be making its way to Dublin’s Dundrum Town Centre. The updated dates and locations for the trolley tour are the following:

16th October 2021– This morning, Harry Potter fans, dressed in their best robes and Hogwarts scarves, gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone releasing in UK & Irish cinemas by witnessing the launch of the iconic Platform 9 ¾ [t]rolley at Edinburgh Waverley.
The installation allows fans to re[-]create the moment when Harry first made it on to [sic] Platform 9 ¾ by running through a magical brick wall in London’s King’s Cross station before taking the 11 o’clock train to Hogwarts, which it did every year on September 1st.

UPDATE (October 23):
Continuing on like a rock star, the luggage trolley from Platform 9 3/4 was unveiled at its second stop earlier today. From now until October 25, those in the surrounding areas will be able to head over to the Birmingham New Street station, in Birmingham, England, for a photo opportunity with the magical cart.
Fans lining up for a chance to enter the hidden platform were also gifted with a LEGO Harry Potter toy to take home. The trolley will be open to witches and wizards from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day. Be sure to head out there before its final curtain call!

The luggage trolley from Platform 9 3/4 has made it to its third stop on its tour of the UK. Fans at Cardiff Central station added some magic to their journeys by stopping for a photo with the iconic installation to celebrate 20 years since the release of the Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone movie in the UK.
The trolley will remain at Cardiff Central station until October 28, and fans can visit and take pictures from 10:30 a.m. BST to 5:30 p.m. BST each day. After its stay in Wales, the trolley will be spending the Halloween weekend (October 29–31) at Lanyon Place station in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Welsh fans, don’t miss your chance to celebrate Harry’s first year at Hogwarts. Fans in Belfast and Dublin, keep your eyes peeled for a trolley appearance near you soon!

We’re back with another update from our favorite touring star! Platform 9 3/4’s luggage trolley successfully landed at its penultimate stop at Lanyon Place station in Belfast this morning. Witches and wizards were lining up to pose for photos with the famous trolley, with one young fan saying that he “thought [he] was going to fly through the wall” when getting ready for his photo. If you want to check it out while it’s in Belfast, make sure to get to the station before the trolley departs on October 31. If you do miss the trolley at this stop, don’t worry – on November 5, the trolley will travel to its final destination, Dundrum Town Centre, Dublin, where it will stay through November 7.

The beloved luggage trolley from Platform 9 3/4 has finally arrived at the final stop of its tour. Unveiled earlier today at Dundrum Town Centre in Dublin, Ireland, the magical cart will be available for photo opportunities until November 7, and then it will finally make its way home. It is highly recommended that witches and wizards in the surrounding areas head over this weekend for a chance to experience the magic of running through a wall.
In fact, go ahead and double down on the magic to make it a full Potter weekend. To commemorate the arrival of the luggage trolley, the Movies @ Dundrum movie theater, also located at Dundrum Town Centre, will be hosting special screenings of all the Potter movies on November 6 and 7. For younger Potter fans who never got to experience the magic of the earlier Potter flicks in theaters, this weekend will be the perfect opportunity. Not only will they get to experience running through the barrier between platforms nine and ten, but they’ll get to see Harry do it on the big screen as well.

Criona Brassill, 46 years old, said “it’s been wonderful for the kids to get a photo here today and feel that bit closer to the magic of the films.”
Over the course of the tour, the trolley has visited Edinburgh, Birmingham, Cardiff, Belfast and now Dublin.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone has returned to UK and Irish cinemas for a limited time, with Movies @ Dundrum cinema additionally hosting special screenings of all the Harry Potter films this weekend (November 6th and 7th) to coincide with the arrival of the Platform 9 ¾ [t]rolley.
