“SpeakBeasty” Episode 139: “This Is Dragon Country”
On this episode of SpeakBeasty, hosts Amy, Ann, Helene, and Marjolaine discuss the beautiful country of Bhutan and speculate as to what might bring our main characters to the Himalayas in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
When behind-the-scenes footage from the third installment of Fantastic Beasts was screened at an event in Barcelona last month, reports started circulating that the film will include several locations, including Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and Bhutan. Noticeably missing is mention of Brazil, a location that fans had previously been expecting due to comments made by actor Dan Fogler and tweets from J.K. Rowling.
So after spending so much time talking about Brazil, we now pivot to find out more about Bhutan. As it turns out, the very private country tucked in the Himalayan mountain range is the perfect place to have a magical adventure with some beasts. Many sasquatch sightings have been recorded in Bhutan, and there’s even a dragon on the country’s flag.
Besides the main discussion, our hosts discuss some of the latest Wizarding World news in this week’s “Phoenix Register” and debate the likelihood of Queenie being Snape’s grandmother in “Kowalski’s Half-Baked Theories.”
This week’s podcast question is “What kind of adventure would you like to see Newt get up to in Bhutan?” Send us your thoughts and theories at SpeakBeasty@gmail.com, or reach out to us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
