Women Can Now Play Hogwarts Express and Knight Bus Conductors at Universal Orlando

Of all the enchanting vehicles featured in the Harry Potter series, the Hogwarts Express and the Knight Bus certainly hold significant places in our hearts, not to mention Universal Orlando Resort. Now, all genders can aspire to be the conductor characters for these magical modes of transportation within the park.

According to Attractions Magazine, a woman has recently debuted as the conductor character for the Knight Bus for the first time since it arrived in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter ten years ago. Guests of the park may recall that the character stands watch outside the iconic purple triple-decker, which is parked alongside the row of apartments that partially obscure Diagon Alley. While a man had previously played the conductor, the role will now alternate between genders on a day-to-day basis.

This news came shortly after a similar report from Hogsmeade. For the first time in 14 years, the role of the conductor character for the stationary Hogwarts Express train car is open to female performers. As with the Knight Bus conductor, the role will alternate. Regardless of what gender guests encounter that day, however, they can expect a character that is happy to talk about Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, and the train.

If that weren’t enough, new images have been taken of the much-anticipated third Wizarding World park at Universal Orlando, the Ministry of Magic. The park is set to open in 2025 as one of five themed worlds of Epic Universe. Initial photos show scaffolding starting to come down, revealing painted signage on each building.
