Daniel Radcliffe Nominated for a Grammy

After receiving a Tony earlier this year for his portrayal of Charley Kringas in the revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Merrily We Roll Along, Daniel Radcliffe has been nominated for another major award. This time, the talented Harry Potter actor’s Broadway performance has put him in the running for a Grammy.

Radcliffe is in good company, as this year’s nominees in the theater category are all Broadway productions. Along with Merrily We Roll Along, which ran at the Hudson Theatre until July 7, Hell’s Kitchen, The Notebook, The Outsiders, Suffs, and The Wiz are all up for the award for Best Musical Theater Album.

Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez are also on the Grammy nominee roster for Merrily We Roll Along, as well as producers David Caddick, Joel Fram, Maria Friedman, and David Lai.

Winning the Grammy would put Radcliffe further on his way to achieving the coveted EGOT status. EGOT is a distinction for those who have won all four of the most significant American performance awards: the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. None of the Potter cast or crew have yet won all four.

Winners will be announced on February 2. Will you be watching? Let us know in the comments below.
