First Look at Epic Universe’s Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry Attraction at Universal Orlando Resort
Earlier this month, more details were revealed about the shops and streets of Epic Universe, and now, Universal Orlando Resort has given Harry Potter fans a first look at its highly anticipated attraction Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. There’s lots to explore within this groundbreaking new ride, from the Métro-Floo corridor and the the Ministry of Magic Atrium to Dolores Umbridge’s office and the magical Ministry lift.
Set to open on May 22, 2025, at Universal’s new Epic Universe theme park, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry is described as the “most ambitious ride Universal has ever created,” allowing guests to step into a full-scale replica of the British Ministry of Magic to witness the trial of Dolores Umbridge for her crimes against the wizarding world.
Métro-Floo Corridor
Guests will begin their journey by entering the Métro-Floo corridor, a unique transportation system inspired by the Floo Network. This will transport them from wizarding Paris to the lobby of the Ministry of Magic.
Ministry of Magic Atrium
It is here that guests will discover they have arrived at the Ministry of Magic on the same day as Dolores Umbridge’s trial. Within the Atrium, guests will queue for the main attraction, surrounded by an array of magical sights such as a restored Fountain of Magical Brethren, the enchanted weather ceiling, and the Ministry offices that stand from floor to ceiling.
Ministry Reception
As guests pass by the Ministry reception, they will find it empty – for everyone working at the Ministry is busy preparing for Umbridge’s trial.
Dolores Umbridge’s Office
Within Umbridge’s old office, you’ll find her iconic pink decor and over-the-top furnishings. Guests will meet Umbridge’s former house-elf, Higgledy, who is cleaning out the office ahead of the trial.
Magical Ministry Lift
The ride’s standout feature is the magical Ministry lift, a revolutionary, omnidirectional lift that seats up to 14 guests. The lift will move in every direction – up, down, forward, backward, and sideways – allowing guests to experience the lift exactly how it’s seen in the films.
As they journey through the Ministry, guests will chase after Umbridge as she attempts to escape her trial, encountering Death Eaters and magical creatures along the way.
More of the Ministry of Magic
The adventure continues as guests soar through other areas of the British Ministry, including the Magical Archives, a huge library filled with towering cabinets holding information on the Ministry and wizarding documents; the Department of Magical Creatures, where creatures are wreaking havoc; and the Time Room, filled with Time-Turners and magical timekeeping devices.
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry is set to be an incredible experience at Epic Universe. The Wizarding World area will also feature Le Cirque Arcanus, a live show inspired by the Fantastic Beasts films, along with themed dining and retail experiences.
Dame Imelda Staunton reprised her role as Dolores Umbridge for the Ministry of Magic ride, and Eddie Redmayne has also reportedly filmed scenes as Newt Scamander for Epic Universe, providing fans with a sense of nostalgia and belonging as they journey through the attraction.
Universal Orlando is also offering exclusive vacation packages, including multi-day tickets to Universal Epic Universe and exclusive wizarding perks.
Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry promises to be a must-see for fans, offering an unforgettable journey into one of the most iconic locations in the wizarding world.
