Universal’s 2026 Butterbeer Season is here with a brand-new Butterbeer waffle

by MuggleNet · February 26, 2026

Universal Destinations & Experiences is bringing back Butterbeer Season this spring, inviting fans to celebrate the Wizarding World’s most iconic drink with limited-time treats and merchandise at Universal parks around the world.

Butterbeer Season runs March 1 – May 31, 2026 at Universal Orlando Resort, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Universal Beijing Resort, and April 1–May 17, 2026 at Universal Studios Japan.

The debut for 2026: Butterbeer Waffle

The biggest debut this year is the Butterbeer Waffle, a new signature seasonal item arriving for a limited time at:

  • Universal Orlando Resort (Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade + Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley)
  • Universal Studios Hollywood (inside The Wizarding World of Harry Potter)

Universal Orlando Resort (March 1–May 31): the biggest menu expansion

Orlando’s Butterbeer Season spans all Wizarding World areas: Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, and Ministry of Magic at the new Universal Epic Universe . And it’s also getting the most new sweets.

Limited-time Orlando treats include:

  • Butterbeer Cupcake
  • Butterbeer Cookie Sandwich
  • Butterbeer Candy Apple
  • Butterbeer Shortbread Bar

These will be available at Honeydukes (Hogsmeade) and Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop (Diagon Alley). Orlando will also feature a Butterbeer Crème Brûlée (listed as Biéraubeurre Crème Brûlée) at Café L’air de la Siréne in the Ministry of Magic area.

Even better for year-round visitors: Butterbeer truffles and macarons will debut during the season and then remain available year-round at K. Rammelle in the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe.

Universal Studios Hollywood (March 1–May 31): waffle + a returning favorite

Hollywood will offer the new Butterbeer Waffle, plus the return of the Butterbeer Cream Puff, a fan-favorite coming back for Butterbeer Season.

Universal Beijing Resort (March 1–May 31): Cream Puff + collectible stein

Beijing guests can enjoy the Butterbeer Cream Puff for a limited time in Hogsmeade, along with new Butterbeer merch, including a limited-edition “Harry Potter 25 Years of Magic” Butterbeer Stein.

Universal Studios Japan (April 1–May 17): first-ever Butterbeer Cream Puff

For the first time at USJ, Butterbeer Season will include a limited-time Butterbeer Cream Puff, plus themed merchandise at Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods.

New Butterbeer merchandise (Orlando + Hollywood)

Universal is also releasing a fresh lineup of Butterbeer-themed merch at Orlando and Hollywood, including a Spirit Jersey, t-shirt, bucket hat, and more available in select Wizarding World shops and online via Universal’s official store.

Final Thoughts

Butterbeer Season has become one of the most fun springtime traditions in the Wizarding World and 2026 looks like its most dessert-forward year yet. Whether you’re going all-in on Orlando’s expanded menu (hello, Butterbeer Crème Brûlée), planning a Hollywood day around the returning cream puff, or visiting Japan specifically for its sweets, this is the window to try the limited-time items before they vanish back into the kitchens of Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley.
