The Seven Things We Hate About You (Know Who)
Those of us with a passion for all things Potter can most certainly agree that Lord Voldemort is as sinister as they come. Here are some reasons we love to hate him:
1. He’s a bully.
Muggle-born? Make decisions based on some sort of moral or ethic? You can forget the cool kids’ table.
2. He’s just plain scary-looking.
Nothing a quick Episkey can’t fi…Oh. Nevermind.
3. His hate does not discriminate.
Men, women, children, wizards, witches, and Muggles alike – Voldemort hates us all.
4. Even as a child, Tom Riddle was creepy.
“I can make bad things happen to people who are mean to me. I can make them hurt if I want to…”
…Enough said.
5. He’s nosy (no pun intended).
Voldemort uses Legilimency to invade the layers of Harry’s brain, gaining access to his deepest, darkest thoughts. Rude.
6. Voldemort is a liar.
“Give me Harry Potter. Do this, and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter, and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched. Give me Harry Potter, and you will be rewarded.”
…Sureeeeeee…
7. And finally…
Voldemort symbolizes evil in its purest form. Maybe if he’d been just a bit more focused on keeping his nose and hair, he’d be a little less miserable – but then we’d never know one of the world’s greatest villains of all time.
