Fan Art of the Week: ‘Godric’s Hollow Graveyard’
This week’s submission is from HPFANTimothy from Melbourne, Australia and is titled ‘Godric’s Hollow Graveyard‘. From the artist, “This took me about two days. I used a grey lead pencil initially, and then traced over the thin outlines with a very thin shade of my Faber Castell pencils. The scene in Deathly Hallows with Harry and Hermione in Godric’s Hollow is a scene I really like, and I couldn’t help being presented with the most amazing imagery when I thought about it.”
Noah’s Notes: The damp and dark colors really capture the mood of the scene. Also Harry’s expression is perfect – not superficially sad – it is a face utterly blasted, the true look of someone faced with the vast incomprehensible darkness that is death. This sentiment seems to conflict with the happy Christmas glow coming from the church in the background. This is a deep piece of art. Well-done Tim!
