Fan Art of the Week: “Deathly Hallows – the Movies”
Our next submission titled ‘Deathly Hallows – the Movies‘ comes from Courtney, and she has crafted her own poster for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. She writes:
“As much as I liked all of the zillions of new posters for the latest movie, the illustrator in me deeply missed the iconic quality of the Sorcerer’s Stone painted poster by Drew Struzan from 2001. So I set about creating my own new image in homage to him. My goal was to design a singular poster that represented both Parts 1 and 2.”
Noah’s Notes: Courtney went on in her email to say that her chosen color scheme for the work was very much inspired by the cover-art illustration on the US edition of Deathly Hallows, drawn by Mary GrandPre. The details here are extraordinary, and it has all of the aspects of a proper movie poster! Each of the character faces look great and very real and the hot red from the background mixing with the bright blue in the front is just beautiful! Brilliant work Courtney!
