“Harry Potter” at Leavesden Studios: A Timeline of History
The Warner Brothers Studio Tour website features a complete history of the studio from its humble beginnings as an aircraft factory and runway known as Leavesden Aerodrome where planes called Mosquitos and Halifax Bombers were manufactured.
In 1999, Warner Brothers acquired the rights to the Harry Potter books and in 2000 they leased Leavesden Studios to make the first Harry Potter feature film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Take a look at the complete history of events as there are certainly plenty of amazing facts throughout its history leading up to Warner Brothers 100 Million GBP investment to transform the studios into one of the largest studio production facilities in Europe when it opens this year. Along with this production studio, the Warner Brothers Studio Tour: The Making of Harry Potter will officially open to the public with an expected 6,000 daily visitors to view the most iconic sets in film history.
