After five years without publishing a book, J.K. Rowling has decided to return to the creative sphere once again and today announced alongside her new agency, Little, Brown and Company that she will be releasing a new novel very soon. However this book will not be about our favorite boy wizard – or perhaps anything close – this new work is reportedly one targeted for adults.
JK Rowling has been telling us for a couple of years through her twitter account that “pen and paper” were her only priority, while we were hoping this was for the encyclopedia or information to be used on Pottermore. We are pleased to now conclude that her priority is, in fact, this new novel.
Miss Rowling stated:
“Although I’ve enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series, which has been published so brilliantly by Bloomsbury and my other publishers around the world. The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry’s success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher. I am delighted to have a second publishing home in Little, Brown, and a publishing team that will be a great partner in this new phase of my writing life.”
We at MuggleNet are excited to eventually get our hands on this new work, and we’ll of course keep you updated as more information comes in! We know we speak for the rest of you when we say we are happy to support Jo wherever she goes in her artistic career.
