Unseen sketch from UK illustrator goes to auction
According to a new article from The Daily Mail, a previously unseen sketch of Harry Potter meeting Buckbeak has been discovered after its original creation 10 years ago from UK cover illustrator Cliff Wright.
Cliff Wright designed the covers for both Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban, but then refused to do Goblet of Fire after his original front and back cover artwork for Azkaban was lost by a design studio.
This sketch, seen below, is going to be sold by antique dealers Art of The Imagination at the Antiques for Everyone Fair at the end of the month and could go for a five-figure sum.
Mike Emery, from the Art of the Imagination said:
“This sketch is extremely rare – when Cliff finished his association with the Harry Potter series he stopped doing any drawings…Any Potter fan would love to get their hands on this item and there is a lot of excitement around it already. It would make a fantastic part of any collection.”
If you had the means to purchase this piece, would you want to own it?
