Matt Lewis to turn on Ilkley’s Christmas lights

Last month in Ilkley, UK – a spa town in West Yorkshire – veteran DJ and broadcaster Sir Jimmy Saville, who has traditionally turned on the town’s Christmas lights, passed away. In Sir Jimmy’s place will be Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis – who portrayed Neville Longbottom.

One of the event organizer’s stated, “Jim would have been pleased that someone like Matthew, who he knew, would come and do the lights. We can only thank Matthew and hope the weather’s fine on the day.”

Also of note, Matthew is about to start filming in Leeds on a new BBC drama called The Syndicate.
