Mythgard Institute ‘Potter’ class schedule released for Spring 2012

The Mythgard Institute is dedicated to making a rigorous, dynamic, and interactive educational experience for students around the world through the latest online course tools. This coming Spring, they will be teaching a variety of subjects on the Harry Potter saga.

During the course, the Mythgard Professors will be discussing the anscestors to the Harry Potter phenomenon, examining specific works and traditions that inform the Harry Potter universe, studying the Harry Potter texts in depth, and, perhaps most importantly, considering why the Harry Potter franchise has achieved unparalleled global popularity today.

In the process, they will be taking both a theoretical and historical approach to popular culture in general and J.K. Rowling’s works in particular. Wizards, witches, squibs, and muggles are welcome to join as they get into the very heart of Harry Potter.
