It was revealed by the producers of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” today that the production will hold its press performance a week earlier than scheduled. The embargo on press reviews for the play, which has been holding preview performances since Tuesday, July 7, will now lift at 12:01 a.m. BST on Tuesday, July 26.
J.K. Rowling has revealed how the new play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” made her “anxious,” in a new interview alongside playwright Jack Thorne and director John Tiffany.
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock for the past few months, you will know that “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” finally opened for previews last night. Alas, it’s safe to say that the lucky fans who got to watch Part 1 were very pleased indeed! (The following audience reactions are completely spoiler-free!)
“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” producers Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, playwright Jack Thorne, director John Tiffany, and actors Jamie Parker and Noma Dumezweni, who will be playing Harry and Hermione, respectively, have given a little more insight into the eagerly awaited play’s origins.
J.K. Rowling has again spoken out in support of Noma Dumezweni’s casting as Hermione in the hotly anticipated new play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”. She revealed her frustration at online reaction by a “bunch of racists” who vocalized their disapproval of a black actress playing the character.

Potterheads in China are in for a treat! Organizers of the upcoming Shanghai International Film Festival have announced that they will be screening all eight films as part of this year’s event.
