Recently, “Amazon.com” reported that the “Hunger Games” Trilogy had surpassed the “Harry Potter” series in total sales to become the Best-Selling Book Series on “Amazon”. “Harry Potter” fans were not pleased with this, so two of our MuggleNet Staff members decided to write an editorial to try and explain how this was even possible.

According to a new press release from Amazon.com, The Hunger Games trilogy by author Suzanne Collins has outsold the seven-book Harry Potter series by author J.K. Rowling when taking into account both print and kindle sales combined.

A recent poll was conducted by NPR books to see which books were favorited among the Children/Young Adult books, which is the single fastest-growing publishing category. The poll received 75,220 votes, and the results were not surprising – at least not to us!
