Nine stunning new promotional stills from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Part 2 were just released, along with several on-set and studio shots. Also released was a new For Your Consideration ad for the Academy Awards.
Earlier today, the San Diego Film Critics Society placed final votes for their 2011 awards. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 won in two categories: Best Ensemble Performance and Best Score (Alexandre Desplat).
The nominations for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards have just been announced and fans of the “Harry Potter” series will be disappointed once again with the lack of acknowledgements. Of the top industry accolades presented to performers, only the Screen Actors Guild Awards are selected solely by their peers. Two nominating panels – one for film and one for television – each composed of 2,100 randomly selected Guild members from across the United States, chose this year’s actor and stunt ensemble honors nominees.

In a new annual studio report card by “Reuters”, Warner Bros. Studios received a ‘B’ for the year despite having the largest box office hit of the year with the finale “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2”, and the most commercially successful R-rated comedy of all-time in “The Hangover Part II”. Warner Bros. (WB) fell to the number 2 studio, behind Paramount Pictures for the year.
In addition to promoting “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” for consideration at the 2012 Academy Awards, Warner Bros. (WB) has recently released a new “For Your Consideration” ad for the 2012 Golden Globes.
As the Oscar buzz continues to grow, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” has taken one step closer to being nominated in the category of Best Visual Effects. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences named the 15 semi-finalists yesterday.
