In a startling revelation by director extraordinaire Baz Luhrmann, whose new film The Great Gatsby was just recently released in theaters worldwide, we learned that he was offered to direct Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Baz Luhrmann, who also directed the hugely popular Moulin Rouge, starring Harry Potter actor Jim Broadbent, recently revealed this information in a new interview with ComingSoon.net.
We all know the Harry Potter movies aren’t perfect – occasionally camera-workers appear in the background, or Harry’s scar mysteriously disappears – but have you ever tried to compile a list of all the mistakes you’ve found in a single list?
10 years ago today on November 16, 2001, the world flocked to movie theaters in masses as Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone made its film debut.
Previously, these editions of the series were only available in the US, but now fans across the pond can enjoy them as well.
“Make-up Magazine” visited the set of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” back in 2001, and shot some video footage involving the make-up process for the film, which has only become available now.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 today became the top grossing Potter film internationally. The previous record holder was Philosopher’s Stone.
This week’s Weekend Throwback is from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, when Harry walked out to the Quidditch pitch with his Gryffindor team for the first time.
