They have launched an online petition, which calls on the European Parliament, Council and Commission to ensure that European Union structural funds are used for the transition from institutional to family and community-based services.

During the 8th Annual Beacon Awards that were held last night at Mansion House in London, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling was one of thirty-three individuals to receive an award for philanthropy from the Beacon Fellows. Miss Rowling was honored with a Beacon Award for Targeted Philanthropy.
In a recent article by ContactMusic.com it was revealed that many stars and high profile individuals officially launched a campaign against world hunger in London earlier today. Among the stars involved were Harry Potter stars Bonnie Wright and Bill Nighy (Ginny Weasley and Rufus Scrimgeour, respectively).
Several Harry Potter stars are participating in this year’s National Doodle Day, a fundraising event that raises money for the charity Epilepsy Action, an organization that works to improve the lives of those living with epilepsy. As part of their campaign, National Doodle Day will feature an auction, beginning Februrary 8, where doodles of celebrities will be listed on eBay.
The Harry Potter Alliance (HPA) is escalating their concern regarding Warner Bros. relationship to child slavery and serious violations of human rights. On their new website, showusthereport.com, the HPA is calling on Warner Bros. to stop hiding a report regarding the cocoa sourcing for Harry Potter chocolate.
