If you’ve ever been to a convention or Quidditch World Cup event with Harry and the Potters – the popular Wizard Rock band – you probably also saw one of the rocker brothers sporting a carrying case around his neck selling sandwiches of his own magical creation.
The International Quidditch Association kicks off its 6th Annual Quidditch World Cup today in Kissimmee, Florida. There are over 160 games scheduled for today’s division 1 games with the top 32 teams battling Sunday for single elimination bracket play to determine the champion!
The Quidditch World Cup is ready to roll, with 80 teams (60 Division 1, and 20 Division 2) set to battle it out and find out what squad will be the first team other than Middlebury College to be crowned Quidditch World Champion.
You know the trick – get a friend to take a picture of you on a broomstick while you jump into the air so it looks like you’re flying. It’s a pretty standard procedure, and you can fool your friends and neighbors into thinking the ‘Harry Potter’ universe is real. But what happens when fans take to the skies in mass and all of those images are uploaded to Imgur and Reddit?
The final push is on as thousands of fans are vying for the remaining hotel rooms in Kissimmee, Florida for the Quidditch World Cup VI, which is taking place April 13 and 14. If you needed another reason to attend the Quidditch World Cup, we have your reason right here:
This past Saturday, the International Quidditch Association (IQA) held Selection Saturday in which teams were positioned into their respective pools for the upcoming Quidditch World Cup VI event taking place in Kissimmee, Florida April 13 and 14.
Earlier today, the International Quidditch Association (IQA) performed one of the exciting events of the Quidditch World Cup before the tournament even starts – Selection Saturday. Selection Saturday is the day that all of the teams are placed into their respective pools.
