In October the International Quidditch Association will begin a comprehensive set of Regional tournaments in preparation for the upcoming Quidditch World Cup, which will take place in November at Randall’s Island, New York. On November 12-13, 2011 the Quidditch World Cup will take center stage on Randall’s Island in New York City. 100 teams and over 2,000 athletes from all over the country will compete for the coveted Quidditch World Cup title sponsored by the “International Quidditch Association”.
The “International Quidditch Association” is in the running to receive a $25,000 grant from the “Pepsi Refresh Project” to start new youth Quidditch programs in elementary and middle schools worldwide.

Our friends at the International Quidditch Assocation are hosting the Western Cup this weekend in Los Angeles, and the two-day event will be streamed live online!
The stream will begin at 10:00 a.m. PT (1:00 p.m. ET, 5:00 p.m. GMT) and run through 7:00 p.m. PT.
This week a Quidditch team from the University of Vaasa in Finland played in the first intercontinental Quidditch match in history against Vassar College from Poughkeepsie, NY, USA on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. The Finnish team will be heading to Harvard on Sunday for a multi-college Boston tournament and then to Long Island on Tuesday, February 22 to play against Stony Brook University.
