Ever dream of attending the Yule Ball? How about hosting your own instead? I’ll show you how to put it all together based off of my experience from running a “Potter” club in college.
For five days in Laconia, New Hampshire, on Memorial Day Weekend, Potter fans overran the Margate Resort in full cosplay during the bi-annual MISTI-Con. The two of us (MuggleNet Creative Team members Amy and Lizzie) got to experience it all first hand.

BookCon 2015 was full of interesting speakers, but my most anticipated panel by far was “In Our World and Beyond,” a panel presented by We Need Diverse Books examining representation in science fiction and fantasy literature. Featured on the panel, moderated by Marieke Nijkamp, were Nnedi Okorafor, Daniel José Older, Ken Liu, Kameron Hurley, and Joe Monti.
BookCon is almost upon us! This is only the second year of the convention’s existence and the first year that the event will last for two days. No one knows quite what to expect from this year’s event since it’s never happened in this format before, but one thing’s for sure – it’s going to be a weekend jam-packed with awesome stuff for book-loving nerds. Here’s a few of BookCon’s most anticipated goings-on!
