Yesterday, thousands of young girls turned out to audition for the role of Modesty in “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” while most of us sat at home and wished we were 12 years old again so that we could take part. While we here at MuggleNet can’t grant that wish for you, we can give you the next best thing — an inside look at what attending the auditions was like! We’ve got an interview with Chloe Hackett, a young actress who attended the casting call yesterday.
I have long been troubled by the fact that Peter Pettigrew was sorted into Gryffindor; of course, for reasons of plot it makes sense since he needed to be close friends with the rest of the Marauders, and Hogwarts tends to be cliquey with their Houses. However, I also knew J.K. Rowling does not make decisions willy-nilly, so I still couldn’t reconcile how a character who is entirely motivated by fear could be sorted into Gryffindor.
It’s been an exciting day in the “Harry Potter” fandom; Warner Bros. hosted an open casting call in London for “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. They were looking for Modesty, a “haunted” 8-12-year-old girl with “an inner strength and stillness. She has an ability to see deep into people and understand them.” In all likelihood, they found Modesty today among the thousands of hopefuls who turned up to audition.
