Director Chris Columbus previews own fantasy novel for teens

Earlier this afternoon Chris Columbus, director of the first two Harry Potter films, gave an appearance in Winnetka, Illinois at The Book Stall, where he read an excerpt from his upcoming children’s fantasy novel, House of Secrets. Co-written with young adult author Ned Vizzini (The Other Normals, It’s Kind of a Funny Story), House of Secrets will be released this coming Tuesday, April 23, 2013.

“The Bling Ring” to open Un Certain Regard at Cannes Film Festival

It has been announced that The Bling Ring, starring Emma Watson, will open the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival. Films in the Un Certain Regard section run parrallel to the main Cannes selections and are judged by a separate jury and awarded a separate prize, to be announced May 25.
