It’s been a busy award season, with plenty of “Potter” alumni picking up awards at the BAFTAs, the SAG Awards, the Golden Globes, and more. Last night, the Oscars took place, and plenty of projects featuring familiar “Potter” names picked up awards.

While most “Potter” fans acknowledge that the books feature many feminist themes, the fandom is guilty of leaving out many of Jo’s (badass) women when discussing these themes. Among the neglected witches is Fleur Delacour, whose heroics are often ignored in favor of Hermione and Ginny. However, I see no reason Fleur should be left off the list of kickass women.
In a new interview with the “Radio Times”, producer David Heyman has spoken about how his latest film “Paddington” is a “love letter to London.” The film, which starred several “Potter” alumni, including Julie Walters (Mrs. Weasley), Jim Broadbent (Professor Slughorn), Imelda Staunton (Professor Umbridge), and Sir Michael Gambon (Professor Dumbledore), was mainly set in London.

Julie Walters (Mrs. Weasley), alongside fellow actor David Morrissey, has backed an Equity campaign to ensure that performers are paid properly. Equity, a union that represents all kinds of performers across the UK, has been exploring the issue of poor pay since 2012.
Jim Broadbent is lending his support to a local family charity near his hometown. The charity, Home-Start East Lindsey, is hoping to raise funds and awareness for their work supporting families in need, and Broadbent has donated two signed movie posters.
