For the term "Slytherin".

My Slytherin Friend

Dear Professor Sprout,

Since my studies have begun here at Hogwarts I have been lucky enough to have made a large and diverse group of friends. Not only in my own house, Hufflepuff, but I can also count among my friends a few Gryffindors, a couple of Ravenclaws, and one Slytherin. Now this Slytherin is probably the best friend I’ve ever had. Oh sure, we can get competitive over Quidditch matches and the House Cup. But at the end of the day we care for one another and try to spend as much free time as we can with each other. However I’m afraid to say that some of my fellow badgers don’t understand how I can be friends with a snake. My Slytherin friend is not evil or vindictive or stuck up in any way. He’s just very driven to succeed and has high goals for himself, which I don’t see as bad thing. How can I help my fellow badgers see the error of their judgments?

Ambitious Young Slytherin

Dear Professor Snape,

I was wondering if you had any advice for an ambitious young Slytherin. I plan on going into the highly competitive field of performing arts, and all of the competition and backstabbing can be insanely irritating after a hard day of work. Does the fact that I already have an intolerance for the divas in my field mean that I have chosen a path that is not quite right for my sensibilities, or should I stay on my path?

A Proud Slytherin

Dear Professor Snape,

I have been sorted into Slytherin, and I am very proud of this fact. I would like to become the very best witch I can. However, people keep saying that all Slytherin’s are evil, and there is no use trying to be different. I can’t believe that’s true! Everyone knows that you were a great Slytherin who did great good, and there must be more. Why is it that only the ignoble and bad Slytherins are remembered, while only the good Gryffindors are?

Slytherin of Troy

Dear Professor Snape,

This is supposed to be a question for the professor of the Defense against the Dark Arts class. However, I am sort of doubtful of their teaching skills, and after hearing so many praises from my peers whilst you were taking over prof. Lupin’s classes,I find myself inclined to seek out your guidance on the matter.

The current research I am working on is dealing with the creature called the Lamia. The Lamia takes the form of a voluptuous woman who also has serpentine features, such as her lower half of the body, having the sense of smell with her tongue ,etc. Now, am I free to assume that the Lamia can be subdued if one knew Parseltongue? And I’d also ask of your personal input with dealing with the creature, should it attack you. How would you deal with it?
