Grab your headphones or extendable ears, the first official “Harry Potter” podcast is on its way. “Harry Potter: The Official Film Podcast” arrives May 19, timed perfectly to mark the 25th anniversary of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.” Across 16 episodes, the show will travel back through all eight films, devoting two episodes to each.
Hosting the journey is Rhianna Dhillon, a film critic, broadcaster and self-proclaimed proud Slytherin. She’ll be joined by a rotating lineup of co-hosts pulled from across the entertainment industry, plus a steady stream of behind-the-scenes guests who actually helped build Hogwarts on screen.
Each episode opens with a high-level recap before getting into the themes, the cinematic choices, the storytelling decisions that shaped a generation of moviegoers. A recurring segment called “Magic Makers” will hand the mic to the people who pulled off the magic behind the camera, offering insight that only comes from those who lived it. Dhillon and her co-hosts will also swap personal stories about their own first encounters with the films and reflect on how the movies continue to land all these years later.
The podcast kicks off with a two-episode launch, then settles into a weekly release schedule. The video version will stream exclusively on HBO Max, while the audio edition will be available wherever you usually listen to podcasts.
