Universal Epic Universe has officially marked its first year in Orlando, and it sounds like the park’s Wizarding World may already be preparing for its next chapter. The park opened May 22, 2025, as Universal Orlando Resort’s fourth theme park, with five lands including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk and Celestial Park. Now, one year later, Universal leaders are already teasing what could come next.

According to Inside the Magic, construction trailers have been spotted on the Epic Universe property, while Orange County permit documents reportedly point to a 150,000-square-foot building near the Wizarding World area. Universal has not officially announced an expansion, but Anisha Vyas, director of projects for Universal Creative, had something very interesting to say when asked about future developments: “There’s always more magic coming out of Epic Universe, especially in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but I think that’s all I can say for now.”

That is not quite a confirmation, but it is certainly enough to get people talking.

The Wizarding World’s Epic Universe land already brings visitors into wizarding Paris before sending them through the Floo Network to the British Ministry of Magic in Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, where Dolores Umbridge is on trial after Voldemort’s defeat. Inside the Magic reports that the ride has welcomed nearly 4 million riders in its first year, making it one of the park’s major early success stories.

Epic Universe was always expected to grow, and Universal executives seem to be keeping the door wide open. Jeff Polk, executive vice president and general manager of Universal Epic Universe, said the park is “not done” and described its first year as “just the beginning.” For now, we do not know what a Wizarding World expansion would include but we can certainly speculate and hope. (Personally, we’re crossing our fingers for a broomstick ride that’s been rumored on social media for years.)
