The HBO Harry Potter era has officially entered a new phase: We can finally buy the merch.
The first official merchandise specifically tied to HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter television series has begun appearing for sale, with two new T-shirts now available on the official Harry Potter store on Amazon. While plenty of new Harry Potter products have arrived this year, these designs are the first to use imagery and branding from the new television adaptation rather than the original film series.
And considering the new show hasn’t even reached our screens yet, we suspect our wardrobes are about to get more crowded. We’re not complaining about that one bit.
The New Series Gets Its First Shirts
The initial drop consists of two designs, both drawing directly from the visual identity HBO has been establishing for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
One shirt puts a wand front and center, surrounded by a magical glow and paired with the new series branding. It feels like an appropriate first piece of merchandise following HBO’s recent closer look at the redesigned wands being carried by Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Neville, and other characters in the adaptation.
The second celebrates “The Boy Who Lived.” The design features a stylized image of Harry alongside his (new) scar design, the title and branding for the HBO series.
HBO’s Harry Potter Merch Has Arrived
The first shirts inspired by the new series are available now.
A Lot More Harry Potter Merch Is on the Way
These shirts may be among the first items through the door, but they certainly won’t be the last.
Warner Bros. Discovery has already been assembling a sizable merchandise program around the series. The Noble Collection previously announced that it had secured global licensing rights for the HBO adaptation and plans to produce replicas based on the new character wand designs. A LEGO collection inspired by the television series has also been confirmed.
Hasbro, meanwhile, will become the global primary toy licensee for Harry Potter beginning in 2027, with plans for products inspired by both the existing Wizarding World and HBO series, including dolls, action figures, collectibles, role-play products, plush, and games.
There is even a new TV tie-in edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone arriving in November, featuring photography from the HBO production on its cover.
In other words, the merchandise floodgates are only beginning to open.
With Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone set to premiere on HBO Max this Christmas, we expect these first two shirts will soon have plenty of company. For now, though, anyone eager to own one of the earliest pieces of merchandise from this new version of Hogwarts can officially start shopping.
